Empowering our youth to shine in every shade of life
Seeking Colours Community Project creates safe, supportive and engaging opportunities for rangatahi aged 10–18 to build confidence, discover their strengths, explore their passions and develop practical skills for life and their future.
Through our ongoing after-school rangatahi programme and our 9-week school-based Choose Your Shade programme, rangatahi are supported through mentoring, leadership activities, community projects, goal planning, practical life skills and pathway support.
Our aim is to help rangatahi recognise their strengths, strengthen their sense of identity and belonging, build positive relationships, and feel confident in the direction they are heading — whether that means further education, employment, community involvement or exploring their own interests and aspirations.
At Seeking Colours Community Project, we believe every rangatahi has strengths, interests and potential waiting to be explored.
We create safe and supportive opportunities for rangatahi to connect, build confidence, develop practical skills, discover their strengths and explore pathways for their future.
Our After-School Rangatahi Programme provides a safe, supportive and engaging space for rangatahi aged 10–18 after school.
Through mentoring, servicing the community, activities, workshops, community projects and positive relationships, rangatahi have opportunities to:
Build confidence and self-esteem
Discover and develop their strengths
Explore their interests and passions
Develop practical life skills
Build positive relationships and friendships
Develop leadership and teamwork skills
Participate in meaningful community activities
Explore education, employment and future pathways
Develop a stronger sense of identity and belonging
Our programme is designed to give rangatahi a place where they can be themselves, try new things, develop their skills and feel connected to their community.
