At Seeking Colours Community Project, we believe our kaumātua deserve to feel valued, supported, connected and respected within their community.
We provide free practical support and companionship for kaumātua aged 65+ in Flaxmere and the wider Hawke’s Bay community.
Our support can include:
Gardening, mowing and general outdoor help
Cleaning and household tasks
Grocery shopping and errands
Companionship, kōrero and social connection
Practical help around the home
Up to two hours of respite support for kaumātua caring for mokopuna
Opportunities for meaningful connection with rangatahi and the wider community
We understand that asking for help isn't always easy. Our goal is to provide practical support in a way that respects the mana, independence and individual needs of each kaumātua.
